Born in 1980 in Paris, Fanny Jean is an upholsterer and restorer. She started her apprenticeship in 1999. For three years she took a sandwich course training at « Les Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France » and different workshops.
After passing her first certificate in Upholstery, Fanny enters the Louvre Museum workshop, for a further two year's training. She specializes then in the traditional techniques of antique furniture completing so her fourth and fifth year of apprenticeship.
Afterwards, Fanny decided to enlarge and enrich her expertise and know how by going abroad. She went to Finland where she got conversant with modern stuffing techniques and batch production. Then she moved to USA where she was self employed and did her first commission work, notably for the Guggenheim Museum in New York and for architects, interior decorators and antique dealers in Charleston. In 2008, Fanny moves to Belgium, learns the Flemish language and decides in 2011, to start up her own business: « Emysfeer ».
